Home Government Program Erasmus+

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ programme is the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth and sport. It aims to equip European citizens with the education, skills and creativity that they need in a knowledge-based society. The programme provides opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad.

It helps to organise student and doctoral candidate exchanges within Erasmus+ Programme countries and to and from Partner countriesErasmus+ is open to all learners and trainees in all the 28 EU Member States, as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Macedonia, Turkey and Serbia that have a pre-accession strategy.

Your study period abroad can last from a minimum of 3 months (or 1 academic term or trimester) to a maximum of 12 months. If you are granted a scholarship through the Erasmus programme, you must approach the local international office at your institution in the application period to receive information about the documents you have to submit. Generally, you will need your CV, a motivation letter and a signed Learning Agreement where you have to state the courses you are planning to take at the host university. Opportunities to study abroad are available to students at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, as well as Doctoral candidates.

You can also combine your studies abroad with a traineeship to gain work experience while studying.

Students with physical, mental or health-related conditions may apply for additional funding after they have been selected to study abroad.

You can benefit from an exchange abroad with Erasmus+ multiple times, either as a student or as a trainee, but your total time abroad (study abroad periods included) may not exceed 12 months within one cycle of study.

In addition, non-EU neighbouring countries are able to benefit from initiatives aimed at promoting youth activities as well as study and training opportunities abroad.
